Esperance looks out through the window of her new house in Kivube village. March 8th, 2024
Add to CartMusabende Esperance, a 72-year-old resident of Rulindo, faced a devastating loss when heavy rains caused landslides in Nanombe, which destroyed her home. With her husband, Gakarama Peter was relocated to Kivube village by the Rwandan government following the landslides that demolished their house in Nombe village on April 20th, 2018, as they could afford to buy land and build on a safe land close to the main road. Since her husband fell ill, Esperance has taken on the responsibility of caring for the land where their home once stood. March 8th, 2024
