Sylvia Stancelous, a farmer from Tanzania, slashes and burns a newly leased land.
Sylvia practices crop farming as her full time work, and it is what she and her family rely on for their livelihood.
I found her slashing and burning a land new my farm and she told me that the past few years have been very uncertain for her crop yield.
And although it is very uncertain and there is the possibility to make losses, she is taking advantage of a 3-year no-charge lease to maintain a number of farms in that even on a poor yield, she will still have some harvest for food.
