Struggling with months of unpaid rent and debts to family and friends related to home construction, Generosa and her children often work on a neighbour's farm, earning a daily income of RWF 1500 per person. Presently, her debt has accumulated to RWF 732,500. While this provides some income, the work is only guaranteed during the planting and harvesting seasons, and it is not sufficient to meet all their needs.
