Hategekimana scours through the land where her house previously stood on 25 February, 2024

Hategekimana cherises this land. She has known it as her home for over 30 years, and it has supported her livelihood as a farmer throughout the years. As a mother it was also a big achievement to be able to see and support her eldest children settling down with their families on the same land. Having their homes and livelihoods destroyed in the span of a few hours was devastating to say the least.
